Mission
The California Legislative Black Caucus Policy Institute serves as the nonprofit extension of the California Legislative Black Caucus, dedicated to advancing and championing African-American culture in California. Its mission includes enhancing the involvement of African-Americans in Californian society, as well as educating the public about the significant cultural and heritage issues that matter to the African-American community in the state. Its mission is to empower students to become activated in the legislative process. Providing the students with the tools to begin the journey of advocating for political change in their communities.
The California Legislative Black Caucus 2024 Scholarship program was established to assist deserving students by offering financial assistance to help meet educational expenses.
ACCEPTED APPLICANTS must be graduating High School seniors with written proof of acceptance for college students in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA.
Applications are considered completed only if ALL sections are answered with two (2) letters of recommendation AND a copy of a transcript (dated within 90 days).

APPLY NOW FOR THE 2024 AFRICAN AMERICAN LEADERS OF TOMORROW PROGRAM!
The application process for the 2024 African American Leaders of Tomorrow Program is now open! Organized and led by the California Legislative Black Caucus (CLBC), this annual signature event invites high-achieving high school students from across California to participate in a four-day legislative and leadership convening.
The primary objective of this program is to cultivate a new generation of African American leaders equipped to tackle critical issues such as education, poverty, criminal justice, and health. The CLBC is dedicated to nurturing and empowering youth by supporting and investing in their academic excellence. Application deadline is April 30th.
