Mission

The California Legislative Black Caucus Policy Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to sharing the significant cultural, civic, and economic contributions of the African American community to help foster an inclusive society for all people. We strive to empower students and families to become active participants in civic engagement and provide our future leaders with the tools to make positive and productive contributions to society.

The Frederick M. Roberts Education Scholarship program was established to assist deserving students by offering financial assistance to help meet educational expenses.

Successful applicants must be graduating high school seniors with written proof of acceptance to an institution of higher learning -or- current college students in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA.

Applications are considered completed only if ALL sections are answered with two (2) letters of recommendation AND a copy of a transcript (dated within 90 days).

AFRICAN AMERICAN LEADERS FOR TOMORROW Summer youth program

Organized and led by the California Legislative Black Caucus, this annual signature event invites  high school students from across California to participate in a week-long youth development and leadership conference held on a California college campus.

Program objectives include cultivating the new generation of leaders to critically evaluate issues such as education, finance, civic engagement, health, and public safety. The CLBC is dedicated to nurturing and empowering youth by supporting and investing in their academic excellence.
